Tour de Rajasthan: Jaipur to Udaipur (29 Jan - 6 Feb 2027)

Tour dates: 29 January to 6 February 2027. 8 nights and 9 days, 478+ km, from Jaipur to Udaipur. Difficulty: moderate. Fitness is mandatory.

The tour

Tour de Rajasthan is a royal desert ride, a heritage cycling expedition from Jaipur to Udaipur through Sambhar Salt Lake, Pushkar, Beawar, Kamlighat and the signature climb to Kumbhalgarh, ending with a sweeping descent from the Aravalli hills into Udaipur. Prepare for 2 to 3 months with daily cardio, strength work and practice on uneven terrain.

Day-wise plan

• Day 0: arrive in Jaipur by noon, bike assembly, city orientation, briefing and dinner
• Day 1: Jaipur to Sambhar, 70 km. Early departure to avoid traffic, then rural roads to Sambhar Salt Lake
• Day 2: Sambhar to Pushkar, 99 km. Long desert plains, salt-land views, a mild climb toward Pushkar
• Day 3: Pushkar to Beawar, 61 km. A recovery ride on smooth rolling roads; optional stretch therapy or massage
• Day 4: Beawar to Kamlighat, 88 km. Rolling countryside and moderate climbs, with a briefing for the next day's climb
• Day 5: Kamlighat to Kumbhalgarh, 86 km. Forest corridors and long gradients to the signature climb, with mechanical support on the steep parts; optional Kumbhalgarh Fort visit
• Day 6: Kumbhalgarh to Udaipur, 85 km. The iconic descent from the Aravalli hills
• Day 7: Udaipur leisure day with an optional light ride, closing ceremony with medals and a dinner celebration
• Day 8: breakfast, checkout and airport or station drop-off assistance

Stay

Twin sharing in AC hotels; single room upgrade Rs 2,000 per day. Extra day stay Rs 4,000 per day. Airport pick and drop Rs 1,000 per person.

Optional add-ons

• Bicycle rental: Rs 900 per day (MTB, road or hybrid; Merida, Giant, Scott and Trek models, chosen by rider height; Rs 2,000 refundable deposit plus one ID proof)
• Single room upgrade on request, at extra cost

Support on the tour

Support vehicles carry your luggage and follow the group. A ride marshal cycles with you, a mechanical team looks after the bikes, and a first-aid and medical kit and an oxygen cylinder are available throughout. In a medical emergency the team takes the rider to the nearest hospital. Meals are vegetarian and non-vegetarian with local specialities; vegan, gluten-free and Jain needs are handled with advance notice.

Women riders: separate accommodation and facilities, female staff, and a zero-tolerance harassment policy.

Prices are per person on twin sharing. GST and other government taxes are extra as applicable.

What to carry

Helmet, front and tail lights, a reflective vest or tape, a water bottle, cycling gloves, shades, 2 windproof jackets, 4 jerseys, 3 padded shorts, cycling shoes, sandals, 8 pairs of socks, nightwear, swimsuit, a raincoat, sunscreen SPF 50+, lip balm, anti-chafing cream, a headlamp, microfibre towels, sanitizer and wet wipes, labelled personal medications and electrolyte tablets.

Payment

• Advance booking: pay Rs 15,000 now to reserve your place. The balance is due 30 days before the tour, by 29 Dec 2026. Pay the balance directly to Cycle Adventures by bank transfer or UPI; they will share the payment details with you.
• Full payment: pay the complete amount now, with nothing further to pay.
